Crazy Fall Beauty Trends

Makeup is a personality, and the internet is buzzing with some of the craziest, most INSANE beauty trends to date! Yesterday, I stopped by WGN Morning News to highlight some of my favorites, and convince Robin Baumgarten. that the squiggle eyebrow trend is really where it’s at.

Here are my picks for fall’s most bizarre beauty trends, and you can watch the recap from yesterday’s segment below!

Pumpkin Spice Latte Deodorant

Fall fanatics, rejoice! Now you can get your spice latte pumpkin or whatever else all the way on, by incorporating the popular scent into your daily beauty regimen. Native Pumpkin Spice Latte Deodorant is an all-natural, paraben and aluminum-free formula that’s jam-packed with vitamin E, Jojoba Oil, Beeswax and more. It’s perfect for folks who are sensitive to perfumes, or other artificial ingredients found in most drugstore brands.

DIY Highlighter Silly Putty

Okay. Before y’all trip, I just have to say that this DIY putty really DOES work as a highlighter. Y’all already know I’m serious about my highlight game, especially when it comes to trying new products that promise to deliver. Now, this highlighter won’t light you up like the 4th of July, but you’ll get satisfaction just from making it! Scouts honor.

Recipe:

In a mixing bowl, combine:

1 package (or 2 tablespoons) of your favorite peel off mask **clear masks work the best, because it bonds the ingredients together**

2 small pinches of baking soda

1 teaspoon of baby oil

1 tablespoon of contact solution

Mix all of the ingredients together and watch your highlighter develop before your eyes! The putty is ready when it no longer sticks to the mixing bowl, spoon or your hands.

Castor Oil to Thicken Eyebrows and Lashes

This beauty hack has been around for a minute, but a lot of folks don’t understand the science behind its magic. Castor oil contains amino and omega 3 fatty acids that nourish, rehydrate and stimulate hair follicles, which is the foundation for healthy hair growth. Simply soak the castor oil on a cotton swab, and apply directly to your eyebrows, and directly above your lash line. Sit back, and watch ‘em grow!

The Bra Insert Makeup Sponge

The purpose of this hack is to achieve more of an airbrushed finish when you apply foundation. And with a million and one tools to use on the market, you can rest assured that a bra insert is gonna be the easiest to clean!

Ear Makeup

In lieu of earrings some folks opt for makeup on their ears. Basically you just take a little pigmented eyeshadow and go all out with different designs, maybe some rhinestones, or even glitter if that’s your thing. Shine on, girl!

Squiggle Eyebrows

So, yeah. The squiggle ‘brow is a thing nowadays, and I can’t help but laugh at the mere thought of actually wearing this trend in public. But to each his own, right? And don’t get it twisted: I’m forever here for over-the-top Instagram trends just for the thrill of it, but rockin’ it to work? Probably not. Trying to catch the eye of a potential new bae? Nope. Twinning at the club with your bff or favorite anchor on TV? Maybe.

Wig Eyebrows

The concept of the wig ‘brow was created specifically for people who naturally have sparse eyebrows, or for those who’ve lost their hair due to illness. They’re made from 100% human hair, and last for about 2-3 months with daily wear. You can chose from a variety of different shapes and colors, and a starter kit retails for about $40.

Dunking Face in Cold Water

Summertime fine was all about the “glow up”, but fall is all about matte skin. So folks are really dunking their faces into bowls of cold water to achieve matte skin, huh? Yep. But it’s more to it than that. Cold water refines pores, and practically nonexistent. Additionally, if the plunge is done correctly, you can expect your makeup to last all day. Here’s what you should do:

Apply a full face of makeup and set with your favorite translucent powder. DO NOT blend the translucent powder. Next, dunk your face into a bowl of cold water for about 30 seconds. Pat dry.
