DECODE YOUR MASCARA BRUSH
Some people believe that one size fits all when it comes to makeup. I don’t. And when there’s so much to choose from, it’s no wonder folks don’t have nervous breakdowns right in the middle of the makeup isle. The easiest way to shop for makeup is to simply identify whatever it is you’re trying to achieve. Take mascara for instance. The best way to find a good one is to first decide how you want your lashes to look. Then decode the brush.
Read on to learn about 4 of the most common mascara brushes to achieve your perfect look!
These kinds of brushes are perfect for peeps who have short, stubby lashes. You know, the kind that just kinda sit there. Just chillin’. The round tip on these brushes thicken lashes and give them an instant boost without the clump. Some of my favorites are Maybelline’s Colossal Big Shot Fully-Loaded Mascara, and Rimmel London’s Scandaleyes Mascara.
I have stick straight eyelashes, and sometimes I don’t feel like using an eyelash curler. If you’re with me on this, then you want to look for mascara wands that have a nice curve to instantly curl your lashes. Clinique’s High Impact Curling Mascara does the trick but if you’re on a budget, try CoverGirl’s Flamed Up Mega Curl Mascara, which retails for about $10.
Elongate the eyes. Yep, that’s a thing. In short, this type of mascara wand is perfect for people who have small eyes, and want a formula that’s not only going to give an illusion of longer lashes, but it will always help to make the eyes look bigger and more vibrant. Check out L’Oreal’s False Lash Sculpt Mascara for about $11.
Brushes that have stick-like bristles or a ball at the end are better for lengthening, and separating each individual eyelash. Basically, if you’re into high-impact and super dramatic lashes, this is the way to go. Some of my favorites are Charlotte Tilbury’s Legendary Lashes, Covergirl’s Total Tease Mascara, and Maybelline’s Lash Stylist Comb Mascara.
Happy shopping, y’all!
