Buzzed Beauty, Nicole L. Townsend talks hair care.

There’s nothing more beautiful than a woman who stands out in a crowd because of her individuality. Women who don’t march to the beat of others, or tailor to what’s “on-trend” carry a quiet confidence that’s admirable. Women who are unapologetic for their strength, independence and beliefs are real “divas” who run the world. I struggled for many, many years trying to find my own voice and place in this world, only to realize that not looking like everyone else or always fitting in is actually a blessing and not a curse. For the first time in my life, I feel like I’m on purpose. It’s not the only reason why I decided to chop all of my hair off, but that notion definitely gave me a voice of reason. Unbeknownst to me, I still receive mixed reactions about my haircut, and of course I wouldn’t be doing you guys justice if I didn’t share! Read about some of the tom foolery below...

SPECTATOR: “I assumed that you cut your hair because your hairline was receding.” ME: See what happens when you assume?

SPECTATOR: “I’m pretty sure she’s a lesbian.” ME: I love women. Truly. And I surround myself with some of the best and brightest. But, I love men romantically. Always have, always will.

SPECTATOR: “Are you a recovering cancer patient? God Bless you.”ME: : I’d like to counter that question with a question: Is there anything about me that looks sick? And if I was, why would you even ask me that?

DAILY DEBAUCHERY : Please don’t reach out to touch my head. I’m not Buddah, and I don’t know you like that.

SPECTATOR: “I never got the chance to tell you, but I love your style. I think your haircut is so dope.” ME: Finally, someone who gets it! Thank you!

DAILY DEBAUCHERY : THE STARES. THE STARES. AND EVEN MORE STARES. ME: Great! Staring is incredibly rude, but if you must, I’ll give you something to look at.

SPECTATOR: “Why would you cut all of your hair off? Women shouldn’t have hair so short.” ME: (Blank Stare)

SPECTATOR: “I love your haircut. It’s extreme beauty.” ME: Why thank you, Sir.

SPECTATOR: “Amber Rose, is that you?!” ME: Not quite, but she’s a beauty!

SPECTATOR: “You are stunning, girl – even more so than before. Never grow your hair back.” ME: When people have the ability to really SEE the light that shines within, you know you’re on the right track. Drops the mic.

What makes you unique, and how do you celebrate your individuality?

Love you guys!
